15 facts meme. Might as well keep it.
1. Her passion for music probably stems from the Ice King. Between the lack of any other adults in her formulative years (that we know of) and Ice King’s own enjoyment of music (drums, keyboard. The broken drum, player piano, guitar, and record player in his The Past Room), this is a plausible explanation.
2. Half demon, half human, all vampire.
3. She’s physically strong and clever, but booksmarts isn’t exactly her forte. It’s kind of hard to cultivate that side when the world was pretty much destroyed when you were a kid. Since then, she’s had the opportunity to change that but…she finds it boring.
4. Mainly neutral, with a few vested interests that include her bass and maybe a couple of people as well.
5. Other people’s opinion of her doesn’t matter – being known as the big evil scary vampire is perfectly fine by her. When it touches upon something that does matter, she definitely cares. This goes for the music she writes and the opinions of people who actually matter.
6. Is actually the vampire queen, rather than something she just made up. As evidenced when she actually shows up at the Grand Meeting of Ooo Royalty.
7. Got her title by killing the vampire king, thanks to Word of God. She probably gets challengers to the throne once in a while.
8. Vampires seem to be a pretty independent lot. Heck, she probably wouldn’t bother keeping her title if it required actual responsibility all the time.
9. Can get all territorial. Marks all her stuff – or maybe just her homes.
10. “Marceline the Vampire Queen.” She likes it a lot better than “Marceline Abadeer.” Between all the daddy issues and being herself rather than what her dad wants her to be, she rarely uses her last name.
11. Family axe. Taken and modified to suit her, her own spin on the whole family biz. Enchanted somehow, doesn’t actually need to be plugged into an amp.
12. Has similar red boots to her dad, however.
13. Inveterate trickster. See “SHE NEEDS TO BE CHASED BY WOLVES.”
14. Her house is surprisingly neat. Also it looks like she’s got no problems eating cake or cornflakes; i.e. stuff that isn’t red. It doesn’t sustain her, but she might like the taste.
